Hale serves approximately 500 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. It is also home for several self-contained Autism Spectrum Disorder classrooms for kindergarten through sixth-grade students.

Hale is equipped with technology in each classroom, enabling students to use computers and the Internet. Each classroom is connected to a production studio from which morning announcements and a variety of student multimedia projects are shared with others.

Hale has an active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) that is very involved in supporting the academic program through the sponsorship of a science fair and the PTA Reflections program. In addition to its excellent academic environment, Hale teachers offer several enrichment opportunities for students, including Student Council, Garden Club, Production Club, Chess Club, Rainbows and Battle of the Books.

A full continuum of special services is available to students in District 54. All children have access to early childhood programs. Each of the elementary schools has gifted resource services, although eligible children can also attend the magnet school.

Nathan Hale is best known for his last words, “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country,” spoken as he was about to be hanged as a spy during the darkest days of the American Revolution.
